Hurricane ian
After Hurricane Ian hit South Florida, GSSM completed 3 runs with donated supplies from several churches in the Orange Park area. Additionally, we made three trips down with small teams to assist with mucking out houses in an areas where there was 4-8 ft. of storm surge that flooded entire neighborhoods. We aimed to prioritize serving widows, elderly, and under insured/uninsured homeowners who would not be able to afford to repair their homes. Additionally, we ran a large mission trip with 16 people from our local church and spent a month down south connecting interested volunteers to homeowners in need of a hand. In total we were able to gut about 10 homes, 3 of which we completely gutted and then reinstalled insulation, drywall, cabinets, and other select items depending upon the needs.

Disaster relief and recovery in Abaco and Grand Bahama areas of the Bahamas after Hurricane Dorian.

Hurricanes Irma and maria - Puerto rico
Nonprofit shipping of relief and recovery supplies and donations in the wake of the back to back hurricanes, Irma and Maria to Puerto Rico.
Over the course of 20 months, GSSM completed 7 runs to Puerto Rico with supplies and donations sent from all over the United States in support of our brothers and sisters on the crippled island. We were honored to see roughly 2 million pounds of love safely across the seas after loading out in ports from the east coast of Florida to Houston, Texas. We partnered with some 55 organizations and community groups to bring donations and relief to approximately 70 of the 78 municipalities on the island. From a solar power system for a hospital in Humacao and brand new mattresses donated by Good360 to adult diapers for the faithful and worried daughter of a broken woman, we were able to bring supplies to those who were serving. Additionally, through partnerships with ABC 5, JJ Lyonguard Foundation, and Jeep 365, we assisted in rebuilding several homes that were completely destroyed. Not only did we have the opportunity to bring the items to the island, we were also able to serve alongside those we were serving spending more than a year on the island between runs. The people of Puerto Rico are truly some of the most wonderful people we have ever known.

"100 Year flood," louisiana
Ran two mission trips to Louisiana to assist after they experienced catastrophic flooding. The first mission trip was to muck houses and lend a hand with debris removal and mold mitigation. During that trip we met a pastor whose roof was badly damaged in the storm and could not afford to replace it. We returned home to raise funds and support to complete the roof repair and went back a month later to do the work. Additionally, we worked at a local church to replace drywall.
